PermFolio ("the App") is a portfolio tracking application that helps you manage investments based on Harry Browne's Permanent Portfolio strategy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
2. Data We Collect
Data Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)
- Portfolio Data: Your holdings, allocations, and preferences
- App Settings: Your notification preferences and thresholds
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

- Device Token: A unique identifier for sending push notifications (only if you enable notifications)
- Portfolio Thresholds: Your rebalancing alert settings (to determine when to send notifications)
3. How We Use Your Data
- Push Notifications: We use your device token to send rebalancing alerts when your portfolio drifts beyond your set threshold
- Price Updates: We fetch market prices to display in the app (no personal data is sent)
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
Google AdMob
We display advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
Expo Push Notifications
We use Expo's push notification service to deliver rebalancing alerts. Expo processes your device token to route notifications.
Finnhub
We use Finnhub to fetch real-time market prices. No personal data is shared with Finnhub.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Portfolio data is stored locally on your device using secure storage
- Device tokens are stored on AWS infrastructure with encryption
- We do not store your actual holdings or financial information on our servers
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:
- As required by law or legal process
- To protect our rights or property
- With service providers who assist in operating the app (under strict confidentiality)
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored in the app
- Delete: Remove all local data by uninstalling the app or using Settings > Delete Data
- Opt-out: Disable push notifications in iOS Settings
- Request Deletion: Contact us to delete your device token from our servers
8. Children's Privacy
PermFolio is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
